This 2-hour course provides a clinical perspective into functional gait training with an emphasis on addressing non-traditional patient populations and complications. It aims to help PTs recognize phases of gait, required muscle activation, and joint mobility as a foundation for being able to apply that in complex situations. It explores in-depth clinical techniques for safely progressing gait including how to identify and treat abnormal gait patterns with traditional and alternative methods. Finally, it discusses various gait assistive devices and their purposes. It is time to get creative and help maximize mobility.
